To enable this function, you need to select icon 2 on the display. The car will blink its headlights once, and a melodic signal will sound on the key fob. Now, after a time specified by the owner, the alarm will periodically start the engine.

If after the first attempt the car does not start, a second one will follow.
In this case, the starter cranking time will be increased by 0.2 seconds. The timer is designed for 4 attempts to start the engine. Let’s say your car has a “Start/Stop” button and you need to install the car alarm correctly. Only the power cable can be connected to the connector responsible for autostart. True, then the system will protect the car, but will not start the engine. And the last option is not easy to implement:

1. It is necessary to determine which pedal (“brake” or “clutch”) is pressed by the car until the engine starts;
2. If you need to duplicate the “clutch,” a relay is connected in parallel with the microbutton, which the alarm will control according to its program;

In the second case, both the connection and the outlet itself must withstand 30-40 Amperes. These are the features of an alarm system with auto start: it must be possible to maintain the ignition. For cars with automatic transmission, however, this requirement will not be mandatory.

It remains to consider how to connect the “red” cord from connector X1. The A91 model alarm receives power through it. In cars with automatic transmission the task will be simplified again:

1. There are always several lines going from the battery, each of which has a 30-amp fuse.
2. The car alarm is connected to any of these fuses, although on the side opposite the battery. This is true for cars with automatic transmission.
3. If the box is mechanical, connect to the line that is in the ignition circuit. This rule cannot be violated.

For the case of a manual transmission, you need to remember that the “red” wire will carry a significant current (30 Amperes). The signaling itself, at the same time, consumes no more than a few watts.

In security mode, when the built-in relays are open, the Starline A91 system consumes no more than 40 milliamps. But the turn signal lamps and siren are designed for a much higher value, and they are connected directly to the signaling unit (see diagram above).

Autostart button and engine control

It is known that the Starline A91 Dialog system has the property: if function 8 is programmed to value 3, the alarm will control the “Start/Stop” button. Control is carried out by the “positive” potential supplied to the “black-yellow” wire. This means that in order to implement autostart, the cord is connected to a relay that duplicates the button contacts:

Let’s say the “Start/Stop” button switches the “positive” voltage. Then you can do without a relay (see diagram).

There is only one thing left to consider - how to connect the control wire coming from connector X3. In the diagram the cord is designated as “gray-black”. You need to select one of the connection options:

1. The wire is not connected to anything; engine operation is monitored using the on-board voltage;
2. The cord is connected to the indicator contact, which receives the “plus” or “ground” potential after starting the engine;
3. You can monitor tachometer signals by connecting to the high-voltage contact of the tachometer.

As you know, there are no other options for the Starline A91 signaling system. By default, the settings are set to “option 1”.

Which wires are left free?

Connector X1 contains 6 terminals. Above we discussed how to connect 4 cords: yellow, black-yellow, blue, red. The remaining wires, of course, need to be insulated. This is not the main difficulty.

The Starline A91 signaling device comes with instructions that say the following:

Note that it is impossible to turn on “soft neutral” without ignition support. But in some cases this leads to a contradiction. The electronics of many cars equipped with a Start/Stop button do not allow the ignition to be maintained when it is turned off with the button.

There is no point in connecting the Starline A91 Dialog system if the car meets three criteria: there is a “Start/Stop” button, a mechanical gearbox is used, ignition support is excluded. Carry out the appropriate tests before attempting to install the alarm. Starline's instructions do not contain such a requirement.

Software system setup

Let's look at how to put the Starline A91 signaling system into programming mode. In fact, there are two of these modes, and autorun options are configured in one of them:

1. You need to disable the security, the ignition must remain turned off;
2. The Valet button, which was connected to the main unit, is pressed 6 times;
3. You need to turn on the ignition, and it is not necessary to start the engine;
4. The siren will sound 6 times;
5. By pressing the Valet button, select the option number;
6. The value can be changed by pressing the key fob.

Each function will be assigned one value, and you can change it by performing steps “5-6” sequentially. Let us explain the meaning of these words:

First of all, option 8 is assigned a value of 3. If this is not done, the pedal press will not be emulated correctly. That is, the signaling system will not be able to start the engine automatically. Next, depending on the connection option, program function 11.

Setting up the signaling system of the A91 model is actually not very convenient. To set the value to 4, press the third key of the key fob long and short. A long press means holding the button until a beep sounds. It, that is, the signal, is emitted by the key fob itself.

Option 12, if the installation is performed on a car with a manual transmission, is better to set to value 3. If everything works, then try using the first value.

Let us finally consider how to activate “software neutral”:

1. First tighten the handbrake;
2. Then stop the engine as usual (by pressing the button);
3. The motor will continue to run for another 10 minutes;
4. To turn off the engine forcibly, arm the vehicle.

If “neutral” is not activated, autostart in a car with a manual transmission will not be possible. That is, the Starline A91 signaling will not produce it, which corresponds to the program specified by the manufacturer. All “prohibited measures” are provided for one purpose - to increase security.
