Diagnostics of the car brake system on a stand

Diagnostics of the brake system prices in Moscow

The brake system of most modern cars consists of three main elements: the brake cylinder, brakes for the front and rear wheels and a vacuum booster. All these nodes require regular preventive examination and diagnosis.

The network of service centers "On Wheels.Ru" offers brake system repairs at affordable prices for cars of all brands.

We work in Moscow and regions of the Russian Federation, use modern high-precision equipment and have an excellent technical and professional base.

How is diagnosis carried out? The process consists of performing a series of works to determine the reasons for the decrease in braking efficiency and assessing the technical condition of the braking system. The part of the inspection that is carried out visually includes:

  • determination of disc runout and its residual thickness;
  • determining the condition of the pads,
  • inspection of the vacuum booster and drive.

For a more accurate assessment, the use of stands - drum and platform - is required. One of the most accurate methods is the force method.

It allows you to determine how hard each wheel brakes after the driver presses the pedal, as well as the time after which the drive is activated. The data obtained makes it possible to assess the condition of the system as a whole, as well as determine the breakdown of its individual elements.

The network of service centers “On Wheels.Ru” in Moscow and other cities of the Russian Federation carries out diagnostics of the car’s brake system on a stand at affordable prices.

The inspection allows the technician to make a conclusion about the condition of the vehicle, possible problems and how to repair them. Despite the high safety margin and reliability of all systems and components of modern vehicles, a vehicle can become faulty due to a number of reasons, including:

  • installation of replacement spare parts of low quality;
  • wear of parts over time;
  • violation of operating rules;
  • influence of other conditions and causes.

Even if you use your car carefully, its mechanisms wear out over time, and timely maintenance is necessary for your safety.

Why is regular and timely diagnosis so important?

According to statistics, vehicle malfunction is one of the widespread causes of accidents on the road. Every car owner is obliged to monitor the condition of his car and carry out preventive repairs in a timely manner.

A visit to the service center cannot be postponed in the following cases:

  • pedal failures when pressed, an increase in pedal travel, a decrease or increase in pressing force;
  • when braking, the car pulls to the side, which, if you press the pedal sharply, can lead to a loss of control over the car's handling;
  • when braking, extraneous sounds occur;
  • after pressing the pedal, the steering wheel is felt beating;
  • when braking, one of the wheels is blocked;
  • When driving, the wheel rims heat up, which causes the vehicle to jam and generally worsens the performance of the chassis.

Typical problems in vehicle operation include jamming of pistons, overheating of mechanisms, wear of pads, violation of drive adjustment, loss of tightness in one of the circuits, installation of pads with incorrectly selected linings.

A car with a faulty vehicle may need to perform the following work:

  • brake system diagnostics;
  • replacing brake fluid and hoses;
  • checking the operation of the cylinder;
  • pumping the system;
  • pedal free play adjustment;
  • checking the operation of the vacuum booster and pressure regulator;
  • parking brake adjustment;
  • ABS system maintenance.

The price for diagnosing the brake system of a car does not depend on the make of the car. You can sign up for a service station using this page in just one click. Choose a convenient time and date to visit our center in Moscow or any other city in the Russian Federation!

Diagnostics on the bench: numbers, graphs, conclusions (+ video)

Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep Blog

Diagnostics at the stand allows the car owner and the service center to speak the same language, because the data obtained cannot be interpreted in two ways - they lie within a strict tolerance range and are quite clear.

If previously the formula “Trust my experience” was in effect, which still needs to be checked, especially with the tendency of many services to “sentence” entire parts, now it is enough to undergo diagnostics on a vibration and roller test bench to obtain dry data that you can believe or reject only in its entirety. As they say, nothing personal, just numbers.

2. Diagnostic procedure

First of all, the car goes through a technical wash, during which dirt is removed not only from the body, but also the suspension and brake system elements are thoroughly washed, from which the stand can fall off and get inside the vibration stand, reducing its accuracy.

Next, the car is oriented so that the axis of its movement is strictly perpendicular to the position of the rollers for checking the brake system, and the left axis coincides with the axis of the plate for checking lateral slip, which is covered in the photo with a protective rubber layer.

Diagnostics on the bench - you can’t argue against the numbers!

Before driving to the diagnostic stand, a force sensor is placed on the brake pedal, which allows you to accurately assess the effectiveness of the entire braking system. Without it, diagnostics on the stand are possible, but less informative.

Brake pedal force sensor

The diagnostic procedure is as follows:

  1. We drive the front wheels along the side slip plate.
  2. We drive the front wheels onto the vibration stand.
  3. We are waiting for the verification to complete.
  4. We move the front wheels onto the roller stand.
  5. We are waiting for the verification to complete.
  6. Repeat steps one through five for the rear axle.
  7. We are leaving the stand.
  8. We print out the diagnostic results.

The whole procedure is somewhat abbreviated as follows.

3. Diagnostics of shock absorbers

If we describe in simple words why diagnostics of shock absorbers is needed, then the most important thing is to determine the quality of their work on rebound - how quickly the wheel will return after jumping or hitting an obstacle and press against the road surface, ensuring not only vehicle stability and driving comfort, but also the length braking distance. You can get into the weeds and bring up a sea of additional factors, but work on the rebound is the weakest link.

Our front axle is normal, the difference in the performance of the shock absorbers is only two percent, and the relative value of their performance is almost off scale:

  • above 60% – everything is good;
  • from 40 to 60% – weak shock absorbers, you need to be vigilant;
  • less than 40% - alarm bell, signal for replacement.

Front shock absorbers are ok

The rear axle on the left is disappointing, the patient is practically dead, there is no point in resuscitation, this is an almost guaranteed third point, which usually looks like this. It's funny to watch, but sad to drive.

Rear left shock absorber in a state of clinical death

4. Diagnostics of the brake system

Diagnostics of shock absorbers on a bench is a boring thing, you won’t get much out of it, but checking the brake system is much more informative. The “distribution” includes the front axle, rear axle and parking brake. For the first two, three information screens are displayed:

  • general condition of the axle;
  • braking force graph;
  • pedal force graph.

For obvious reasons, the last item is missing for the parking brake.

The result of diagnosing the front axle brake system is quite reliable, even despite the red number 21 - sad, of course, but tolerable.

Dodge Caliber front brake system

Twenty-one percent in this case is the maximum spread of braking force between the axles with a permissible value of twenty. The graph clearly shows that with a maximum achieved force of almost three kilonewtons, imbalance occurs in the initial phase of pressing the pedal with a force of half a kilonewton.

In human language, this means that the front left wheel, when pressing the pedal lightly, brakes more than the right one, after which the difference between them is leveled, which is confirmed by the graph of the force on the brake pedal. The ovality of the brake discs is normal and does not exceed the threshold value of 20%, at which the beating is clearly felt during active braking.

Front axle braking forcePedal force for front axle

The rear axle disappoints us and is again on the left: the disc ovality is close to the critical 25%, the difference between the forces at the peak is 58% against the required twenty.

Dodge Caliber Rear Brake System

The right rear wheel, although it works, is jerky; when braking, there is a risk of the car pulling to the right due to the disengaged rear left wheel - a sufficient basis for checking, first of all, the condition of the guides and the brake caliper cylinder.

Rear axle braking forcePedal force for rear axle

The picture is completed by the parking brake with even more depressing performance.

Parking brake Dodge Caliber

The left rear wheel, of course, does some work, but in fact it is better not to operate the car in this condition.

The left rear wheel hardly brakes

It would seem that diagnostics at the stand clearly indicate serious problems with the rear brake system, the elimination of which can cost a significant amount, but in fact we have drums installed at the rear, which were simply enough to be adjusted. This is exactly the option when you can spin your wheels for a long time and not find the answer, but just go to the roller stand and everything becomes clear.

Brake system diagnostic results

The overall picture, however, is quite optimistic: the total braking force is 62% with a minimum allowable of 53%, and the parking brake is only 19% with a minimum of 25%, which is eliminated in our case by spreading the drum shoes.

5. Convergence and conclusions

We completely forgot about the slip plate, from which all diagnostics begin. The resulting value has no dimension, since it shows the displacement in meters for every thousand meters. Values up to 7 indicate the norm, from 7 to 12 are acceptable for use, and anything above requires a visit to the wheel alignment stand to check and adjust the angles.

Rear wheel alignment is outside normal limits

Diagnostics on a stand, both vibration and roller, does not give all the answers about the condition of the suspension, but it very clearly paints a picture of the car’s behavior on the road when driving and braking from a safety point of view.

The time and cost of a full diagnostic at the MAHA stand are available in the “Services” section.

Diagnostics of the brake system (brakes) of a car on a stand - vacuum brake booster

The braking system of a car is the most important component of the safety of the driver and passengers. Even the most minor malfunctions in its operation can lead to an accident or even death. That is why inattention to timely diagnosis of the performance of the braking system is simply unacceptable.

At the same time, the car's braking system is designed for stable operation over a long period of time. On modern cars, brake system failure is the result of, perhaps, gross inattention on the part of the owner, and even then, the presence of multiple circuits allows control of the car.

[photo 1]

When is brake diagnostics needed?

Diagnostics of the brake system is necessary if the following symptoms appear:

– increasing the braking distance;

– change in the brake pedal travel (sinking or sticking);

– the car pulls away from the trajectory, slips into a skid when you press the brake pedal;

– knocking, vibration, squeaks in the brake system;

– brake fluid leak.

In addition, there are side signs of problems in the brake system: such as uneven wear of the brake pads, cracks or breaks in the brake system hoses, etc. They can rarely be seen without dismantling the wheels, so periodically (at least once every 50,000 kilometers) it is recommended to inspect the condition of the brake hoses, pads, etc.

It will probably be unnecessary to remind you that when any of the above signs of malfunctions appear, diagnosing the car’s brake system becomes a first necessity.

Diagnostic procedure

With regular professional maintenance of the brake system, all that is required of the owner is to monitor the level of brake fluid, the condition of the pads and hoses in the system. With this care, the brake system will serve trouble-free for many years.

Diagnostics of the brake system is the price the owner pays for safety, so diagnostics at the stand should not be neglected. It gives the most complete picture of the condition of the brakes and their effectiveness.

But an experienced technician will be able to identify many faults using the road diagnostic method.

Road diagnostics, of course, do not give the full picture, but it allows you to identify the most common problems, and this, in turn, saves the car owner time and money.

[photo 3]

Diagnostics of the brake system on a stand is the most modern and accurate way to check the brakes.

During such diagnostics, the car rolls each wheel onto rotating rollers, simulating driving on the road, and when you press the brake pedal, the computer will accurately determine the braking force on each wheel.

Based on the diagnostic results at the stand, the specialist will see the weak points in the operation of the vehicle’s braking system and will be able to quickly determine the cause of the malfunction.

Brake system repair

Identification of the causes of reduced brake system performance is usually followed by a repair procedure. It doesn't have to be an expensive procedure. Replacing pads, for example, is quite quick and in many cases can be done independently.

The exception is, perhaps, the most modern and expensive cars (where even such a simple operation as changing the pads must be identified by the on-board computer: otherwise the car simply will not start after the repair is completed).

In this case, you simply cannot do without the help of a specialized service center.

Professional help may also be required if it is necessary to replace brake hoses and other main lines. In this case, it is necessary to drain the brake fluid and, after replacing parts, bleed the system. This is necessary in order to squeeze out the air that has entered the system: otherwise the brakes may fail at the most inopportune moment.

Thus, diagnostics and repair of the brake system can be carried out independently, but in some cases it is better to entrust your car to the hands of experienced specialists. By regularly checking your brakes, you will significantly improve the safety of your vehicle and reduce costs for your four-wheeled companion.

Asia-motors

The “SPACE” computer brake tester is one of the main complexes of the vehicle technical inspection line of our Asia Motors technical center. The SPACE brake tester allows you to accurately determine the current state of the vehicle's braking systems, suspension and shock absorbers.

The main function of the stand is to diagnose braking systems, regardless of the make and model of the car. The brake tester determines with high accuracy such a parameter as the specific braking distance of a particular vehicle. One of the most important indicators of a car—safety for the driver and passengers—depends on fluctuations in this parameter.

Due to timely detection and adjustment, brake stands prevent a huge number of emergency situations.

Line for instrumental safety monitoring of cars and minibuses, including a shock absorber tester

The operating principle of the SPACE line (Italy) is the sequential collection and software processing of measurement results and visual monitoring of the technical condition of the vehicle using measuring instruments and equipment included in the instrumental control line.

The vehicle testing procedure is controlled from the remote control, or processed and stored by the processor from the keyboard, visualization of testing using a monitor, all images in 3D graphics, printing of results on a printer, interface for connecting a pull-out stand, suspension tester and gas analyzer, smoke meter, tachometer, tester Sveta.

List of measured parameters:

  • Rolling resistance;
  • Ovality of discs or misalignment of brake drums;
  • Maximum braking force per wheel;
  • The difference in braking forces between the right and left wheels of one axle;
  • Braking efficiency of service and parking brakes;
  • Force on the foot brake pedal and hand brake lever;
  • Vehicles with all-wheel drive can also be tested on the brake test bench.

Testing procedure:

The testing procedure is divided into two separate phases for each bridge. In the first phase, the left roller unit begins to rotate in the direction of travel, and the right one in the opposite direction. In this case, the transmission to the second axle is disengaged in the transfer case, and, therefore, the torque is not transmitted to the wheels that are not on rollers.

The results will be shown after testing both axes.

After measuring the braking forces on each bridge, you can view a graph of the progress of the braking forces.
After all the data has been entered into the computer memory and the car has left the roller unit, a page with the final test results of the entire brake system appears on the monitor screen.

Vehicle suspension and shock absorber testing stand

There is a weighing device that allows you to determine its effectiveness.

When testing under the wheels of a car, first the left and then the right platform begins to vibrate alternately, while a certain force begins to act on the shock absorbers of each bridge, tending to disrupt the adhesion of the wheel to the underlying surface.

The computer records the minimum weight on each wheel when vibrating and compares it to the weight on the same wheel when the vehicle is stationary. The higher the grip, the better the car will interact with the road surface in real driving conditions.

The Asia Motors company is an accredited car service for passing Technical Inspection, an integral part of which is the “SPACE” brake tester. At our car service center, you can undergo a State Vehicle Inspection and receive a maintenance coupon and a vehicle diagnostic card in the shortest possible time, as well as receive MTPL insurance and, if desired, CASCO insurance.

Diagnostics of the brake system in Otradnoye

Brake system diagnostics

The braking system of a car is the main guarantee of your safety in any, even emergency and unpredictable, situation that often arises on our roads. If you want to feel protected at any time, in any weather, in any conditions, you must always be sure that the brakes of your car are in perfect condition.

Traditionally, it is believed that the brake system should be checked once every 50,000 km. mileage, but in practice experts recommend going through it more often, at least once every two years.

In addition, diagnostics of the brake system is mandatory included in the state technical inspection regulations, since the serviceability of the brakes ensures the safety of not only the owner of the vehicle, but also other road users.

Types of braking systems

From the point of view of the laws of physics, the operation of brakes in a car is based on a phenomenon called friction.

The required effect is achieved through the interaction of stationary brake pads with a rotating brake disc or drum, resulting in friction that slows down the movement of the operating mechanisms.

Based on this feature, brakes are divided into disc and drum. However, in modern cars a comprehensive solution has been found, in which disc brakes are usually used on the front wheels, and drum brakes on the rear wheels.

There are three types of braking systems in a car:

  • working. The main system that reduces speed and stops the car;
  • parking (in common parlance - handbrake). Designed to prevent spontaneous movement of the vehicle during long periods of parking, especially if the terrain has a significant slope;
  • emergency braking system. Designed for instant braking while driving in the event of a failure of the working system. Since the handbrake cannot be activated while driving, the emergency braking system lever blocks the wheels and stops the car almost instantly.

Braking systems can also be classified based on the main force acting in them, which drives the mechanism. According to this principle, brakes are divided into

  • hydraulic (the action is achieved through the operation of the brake fluid);
  • pneumatic (work on the same principle as hydraulic, but use compressed air rather than liquid);
  • mechanical (parking brake and emergency braking system);
  • electromechanical (driven by an electric motor);
  • electro-pneumatic.

To increase the reliability and efficiency of the braking system, modern cars use additional systems such as

  • ABS (anti-lock braking system);
  • ESP (traction control);
  • BAS (brake assist);
  • EBD (brake distribution system);
  • EDS (differential lock).

Signs of a faulty brake system

It is important to know the main signs by which you can guess about problems in the brake system and promptly contact a car service for diagnostics. Missing such a moment is very dangerous, since a malfunction of the brakes in a car at any moment can result in trouble and even tragedy.

You should pay attention to such phenomena as

  • increased braking distance;
  • extraneous sounds in the brake system (creaking, knocking, etc.);
  • brake fluid leak;
  • the brake pedal sinks, sticks or moves too freely;
  • the car skidding or moving to the side when braking;
  • heating the brake drums;
  • brake pads are worn unevenly;
  • There are cracks and ruptures in the brake system hoses.

The last of these signs is difficult to detect without first removing the wheels. Therefore, even an apparently serviceable car must regularly have its brake system checked, for example, as part of maintenance, but at least once every two years.

Types of brake system diagnostics

There are two types of brake system diagnostics:

  • road method;
  • bench method.

The road method involves assessing the condition of the car's brakes while driving.

Any car owner who spends a lot of time behind the wheel and knows the features of his car well can carry out such diagnostics.

The above deviations in the behavior of the car on the road can serve as a sign of a malfunction of the brake system and should be a reason for a visit to a car service center.

In a car service center it is possible to carry out more technologically advanced bench diagnostics. There are several types of test benches, for example

  • stands for static tests;
  • roller;
  • inertial;
  • on-site.

At such stands, various performance indicators of the vehicle’s braking system are measured using special instruments and sensors.

Next, the information is processed on a computer, as a result of which you can get the most complete picture of the condition of the brakes, without the need to disassemble the car. This is, without a doubt, a compelling argument in favor of bench diagnostics.

In addition, the technical center specialists, based on the results of the inspection, will advise and immediately carry out the repair work necessary for your car.

Types of stands and methods for testing brake systems

According to current standards, two main methods for diagnosing brake systems are used - road and bench. The following controlled parameters are set for them:

  • during road tests - braking distance; steady deceleration; stability when braking; braking system response time; the slope of the road on which the vehicle must be kept motionless
  • during bench tests - total specific braking force; coefficient of unevenness (relative unevenness) of the braking forces of the wheels of the axle, and for a road train, additionally, the coefficient of compatibility of the links of the road train and asynchrony of the response time of the brake drive

There are several types of stands and instruments that use different methods and methods for measuring braking qualities:

  • static power
  • inertial platform
  • inertial roller
  • power roller stands
  • instruments for measuring vehicle deceleration during road tests

Static force stands

Static force stands for diagnosing car brakes are roller or platform devices designed to rotate the braked wheel and measure the force applied.

Such stands can have a hydraulic, pneumatic or mechanical drive. Braking force can be measured with the wheel suspended or supported on smooth running drums.

The disadvantage of the static method of diagnosing brakes is the inaccuracy of the results, as a result of which the conditions of the real dynamic braking process are not reproduced.

Inertial platform stands

The operating principle of an inertial platform stand is based on measuring inertial forces (from translationally and rotationally moving masses) that arise when a car is braking and are applied at the points of contact of the wheels with the dynamometer platforms. Such stands are sometimes used at auto repair shops for incoming inspection of brake systems or express diagnostics of vehicles.

Inertial roller stands

Inertial roller stands have rollers that can be driven by an electric motor or a car engine. In the latter case, the driving wheels of the car rotate the rollers of the stand, and from them, using a mechanical transmission, the front (driven) wheels.

After installing the car on the inertial stand, the linear speed of the wheels is brought to 50...70 km/h and the brakes are sharply applied, while simultaneously disconnecting all the stand carriages by turning off the electromagnetic clutches.

In this case, at the points of contact of the wheels with the rollers (belts) of the stand, inertial forces arise that counteract the braking forces. After some time, the rotation of the drums of the stand and the wheels of the car stops.

The distances traveled by each wheel of the car during this time (or the angular deceleration of the drum) will be equivalent to the braking distances and braking forces.

The braking distance is determined by the rotation frequency of the stand rollers, recorded by a counter, or by the duration of their rotation, measured by a stopwatch, and deceleration is determined by an angular decelerometer.

The method, implemented by an inertial roller stand, creates car braking conditions that are as close as possible to real ones. But due to the high cost of the stand, insufficient safety, labor intensity and large amounts of time required for diagnosis, stands of this type are irrational to use when carrying out diagnostics at automobile enterprises and during state technical inspection.

Power roller stands

Power roller stands using the adhesion forces between a wheel and a roller allow you to measure braking forces while it rotates at a speed of 2.10 km/h. The rotation of the wheels is carried out by the rollers of the stand from an electric motor. Braking forces are determined by the reactive torque that occurs on the stator of the stand's gear motor when the wheels are braking.

Roller brake testers allow you to obtain fairly accurate results from checking brake systems.

With each repetition of the test, they are able to create conditions (primarily the speed of rotation of the wheels) that are absolutely identical to the previous ones, which is ensured by accurately setting the initial braking speed by an external drive.

In addition, when testing on power roller brake stands, a measurement of the so-called “ovality” is provided - an assessment of the unevenness of the braking forces per wheel revolution, i.e. The entire braking surface is examined.

When tested on roller brake stands, when the force is transmitted externally (from the brake stand), the physical picture of braking is not disturbed. The braking system must absorb external energy even though the vehicle has no kinetic energy.

There is one more important condition - the safety of the tests. The safest tests are on power roller brake stands, since the kinetic energy of the vehicle being tested on the stand is zero. If the brake system fails during road tests or on site brake test benches, the likelihood of an emergency is very high.

It should be noted that, based on the totality of their properties, it is power roller stands that are the most optimal solution both for diagnostic lines of service stations and for diagnostic stations conducting state inspections.

Modern power roller stands for testing brake systems can determine the following parameters:

  • according to the general parameters of the vehicle and the state of the braking system - resistance to rotation of unbraked wheels; uneven braking force per wheel revolution; weight per wheel; mass per axle
  • for service and parking brake systems - the greatest braking force; braking system response time; coefficient of unevenness (relative unevenness) of the braking forces of the axle wheels; specific braking force; control force

Monitoring data is displayed on the display in the form of digital or graphical information. The diagnostic results can be printed and stored in the computer memory in the database of diagnosed vehicles.

The results of checking the brake systems can also be displayed on the instrument rack.

The dynamics of the braking process can be observed in a graphical interpretation. The graph shows braking forces (vertical) versus brake pedal force (horizontal). It shows the dependence of the braking forces on the force of pressing the brake pedal for both the left wheel (upper curve) and the right wheel (lower curve).

Using graphical information, you can also observe the difference in the braking forces of the left and right wheels. The graph shows the ratio of the braking forces of the left and right wheels.

The braking curve should not go beyond the boundaries of the regulatory corridor, which depend on specific regulatory requirements.

By observing the nature of the change in the graph, the diagnostic operator can make a conclusion about the state of the brake system.

Brake system diagnostics

Home | Services | Locksmith repair | Brake system diagnostics

As experienced drivers say, a faulty accelerator pedal does not cause accidents. But a faulty brake pedal - easily.

Having picked up speed, a car (usually weighing more than a ton) receives such a reserve of inertia that stopping it requires enormous effort.

The health of the braking system is directly related to the safety of the driver and passengers.

The braking system in modern cars is quite reliable, otherwise automakers will not be able to certify their product. There is built-in diagnostics of the brake system; the pipelines are made in the form of two equivalent and independent circuits.

However, the statistics of accidents due to failed brakes are disappointing. It's not just about the inability to stop in time. Uneven distribution of forces between the wheels and early locking lead to loss of control and skidding.

That is, the car seems to be slowing down, but the braking system itself becomes a source of danger.

The situation is aggravated by the large number of cars with high mileage. Owners, as a rule, are careless about servicing such cars, because the warranty has long expired, and on the contrary, confidence in the reliability of their iron horse is strengthening. A simple diagnosis of the brake system will not only help you avoid trouble, but may also save your life.

Signs of a faulty brake system

  • The usual grip has disappeared - with the same pedal position, braking is more sluggish.
  • The brake pedal travel has been increased.
  • When braking, the car pulls to the side.
  • The brake master cylinder has play.
  • Unjustified reduction in brake fluid level.

  • “Sweating” of brake hoses or connecting elements.
  • Leaks on system elements.
  • The “faulty brake system” lamp on the instrument panel lights up briefly.
  • Extraneous sounds around the wheels when braking.
  • Drops of brake fluid where the car is parked.

Of course, in case of obvious brake failure, diagnostics of the brake system is not required. Urgent repairs are required, since the operation of the car in this case is prohibited.

If any of the listed signs appear, we recommend contacting our service for examination and prevention of serious damage.

How often is the brake system checked?

The frequency of diagnostics is determined in the service book; there is a list of work during maintenance. There is also a daily check that you can carry out yourself.

But a detailed check, with measurement of parameters, is only possible with a professional service.

If for some reason you do not carry out regular maintenance, our service station will help you assess the condition of the brakes using professional bench equipment.

We recommend carrying out diagnostics during seasonal tire changes and before long-distance trips. Of course, after changing the fluid, a check is required.

What does brake system diagnostics include?

In addition to standard dynamic tests, which evaluate braking distances, we work according to the factory algorithm.

  1. Checking brake pad wear using a measuring tool.
  2. Assessing the condition of the caliper: mounting, guides, springs, dampers.
  3. Checking the moisture content of the brake fluid.
  4. Main brake cylinder: condition of cuffs, seals, connecting pipes.
  5. The stroke value of the working pistons.
  6. The performance of the brake booster.

The main diagnostics of the brake system is carried out on the stand. Using measurements, all dynamic parameters are assessed. The brake system is checked in operating, emergency and extreme modes.

The measurement accuracy is determined by the class of the device.

Our service has universal equipment on which you can not only test, but also adjust the brake master cylinder and other elements of the system.

Is it possible to diagnose the system yourself?

Our service specialists categorically do not recommend doing this. Incorrectly diagnosing the brake system can not only damage any component. You may draw incorrect conclusions about the health of the brakes. And then, at a crucial moment, the system will let you down. The same applies to non-professional specialists.

If the work is carried out at a dealer station, quality is guaranteed. But the cost of diagnosis will be too high. In this case, the same equipment is used.

After diagnostics, our service will offer you the most cost-effective repair. You pay only for real work, at flexible rates.

At the dealership service station, you will be subject to mandatory procedures established by the manufacturer.
