AleksOr's photo report on additional sound insulation is posted in this topic, since it intersects and complements the above report. I decided to work on noise, I covered the rear arches, it seems to have become quieter (while I drive on spikes, it makes quite a bit of noise).
Who did the Shumka thread, is it worth gluing the floor?
This material is like this: the inner layer is dark gray foam rubber t=10 mm, Velcro on one side, foil on the other. You try it on, cut it with a knife or scissors, remove the protective paper and sculpt it. t=10 costs 425 rubles per 1 m2, t=6 mm – 350 rubles. It's very easy to work with.
I'm going to tape the trunk, front arches, hood, floor and doors in question. Both rear arches took less than 1 square meter. meter.Armen Messages: 1 Registered: Mar 15, 2013, 11:28 pm

Shumka is good, but there are two disadvantages when selling. 1) Those who more or less understand about cars will be afraid that the car might have been in an accident and thus the repair places were closed; 2) When registering, the inspector looks at the joints and seams of the body, can easily not be registered...

Igor51, did you have this problem? You're noisy... you didn't have to pull it off? I don’t know what and how the inspectors look, checking the VIN numbers, the application for registration, where he will put a stamp and a receipt. 3 minutes and free, what are the joints and seams?

There have been so many cars, inspectors have never looked at the seams, only the VIN number, and traces of repairs are checked with a paintwork thickness gauge on the outside, so I don’t see any downsides. Yes, I tried hard and went a little too far (I sealed the ventilation hatch), but I forgot about the roof because the noise from it is five to ten times greater than from the trunk and rear seat. But in general, I certainly approve.

What thickness of vibroplast should I glue to the inner foam of the doors, M1 or M2? By gluing M2, the door will probably be heavier, will this not affect the sagging of the doors in the future?

To make it easier to remove the original Shumka, moisten it with water. She becomes soft.

For the inexperienced, can you tell me how to remove the plastic trim on the rear arches? And the lining inside the trunk? There are some clips there - I'm afraid I'll break them...

A photo would be of the clips, but as a rule, on arches, in order to remove the clip, you need to pull the inner part of the clip toward you (I do this with a screwdriver) so that it disengages from the outer part, and then the entire clip is easily pulled out. But on the trunk lid they are different; when removed they sometimes simply break; they have to be pulled out brazenly. Maybe I’m wrong about the lid, maybe there are others on the Restyle now? I would like to see the photo again. I played around with the rear shelf today. I bought 4 sheets of 30x40 vibra M2 and a sheet of Shumka 8 mm. Of course, the M2 sheet remained and the same piece of Shumka. In the center, between the columns, I applied 3 layers on top and 1 layer of M2 on the bottom. The panel stopped vibrating, and the sound eventually became bassy and soft.
The line is out the front doors. Question to the studio: after replacing the wheels for the summer, I began to feel the vibration of the floor under the driver on small bumps (crushed stone), which was not a pleasant experience.
What kind of vibration should I buy to completely kill it? More on the topic: There is no need to fanatically cover everything with vibration, it is enough to apply it to vibrating areas, i.e. on flat areas. Where there are stiffening ribs, there is no vibration without them.
Once upon a time I read that for each car there are patterns for certain places. Such patterns are kept secret and are not published online.

Exactly, this is exactly the number that was there.
Das ist, did you want to seal the doors with aluminum last year? They also asked for photos of the door openings. Photos of the rear shelf with a ruler are needed, I took them before sealing.
I saw a luminaire for sale, and I also thought about sealing up the doors. Das ist Honorary Korollovod Messages: 5049 Registered: 16 Jan 2013, 09:40 Car: corolla2007 Thanked: 2 times Thanked: 18 times

That year I fixed it, although not myself, but on vacation I took it to a car audio company.
So they returned the noisy car to me + installed sound components. That’s why there are no photos... I don’t know what they did, there were 2 different materials (for 10 sput) + 14 work.

Today’s conversation and photo report will be dedicated to the Toyota Corolla E140 , which arrived at our car noise insulation center “COMFORT TECHNOLOGY”.
Toyota Corolla is a compact car manufactured by TOYOTA. Listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the best-selling model in the world.
In 2006, the Corolla name turned 40 years old, during which ten generations of these cars changed... And now the tenth generation Toyota Corolla visited our car noise insulation center “COMFORT TECHNOLOGY” .
And we are very pleased that we have the opportunity to look inside this car with you and perform soundproofing of another representative of the Toyota model range.
In this photo report we will offer you a solution for complete sound insulation of Toyota Corolla - and try to implement the PRICE-QUALITY idea.
Where we will take as a basis and use vibration-insulating materials of the Comfort Gold series, noise-absorbing and insulating materials SGM, K-FLEX, Turbo, Comfort...
So, let's go!
Soundproofing the hood of a Toyota Corolla begins with degreasing the metal of the hood, after which vibration insulation of the Gold G2 series from Comfortmat is applied to the metal.
Sound insulation of the front arches of Toyota Corolla.
Included in the range of works for car sound insulation. We dismantle, clean and dampen the protective front fender liners using an effective Vibroplast Comfort Gold G1.
In parallel with the work on noise and vibration insulation of the hood and front arches, our team is engaged in a complete disassembly of the interior. We dismantle the door panels, front rear seats, center console, interior floor carpet, ceiling and dashboard in stages.
Soundproofing the ceiling of Toyota Corolla . Before processing, the bare metal of the roof is degreased and dried.
Modern car vibration insulation Comfort Gold G3 takes its place on the ceiling and significantly increases its resistance to vibrations, which generate an unpleasant hum in the car. The material is tightly rolled to the metal, and its high adhesion will contribute to its reliable location on the ceiling.
As a sound insulator we use acoustic felt, a new product that has appeared in our product range, Turbo Felt 10 is an excellent sound absorber in the form of acoustic felt 10mm thick . By the way, this material is not at all afraid of moisture or condensation, since it consists of 100% synthetic fibers.
We make noise insulation of the doors of any car in 5 layers, since the main appearance and penetration of sound and noise into the car interior occurs through our doors.
Once again, we draw your attention to why we recommend using exactly five layers:
We start with the outer wall of the door. As you can see, it is completely naked without traces or any vibration insulation - this is a good noise accumulator. The metal is very thin and echoing.
First layer: Vibration insulation of the outer panel - with this layer we increase its resistance to vibrations created by the aerodynamic flow and eliminate the unpleasant hum that we hear while driving.
On this car we use a Comfort Gold G2 vibration damper, carefully rolling the material with a metal roller, ensuring maximum adhesion of the mastic to the metal.
Second layer: Sound insulation of the external door panel - we need this layer to isolate the car interior from penetrating street noise through the metal panel, since the first layer we use was created for vibration insulation and has nothing to do with sound insulation.
That’s why we use the second layer of sound-heat-insulating material SGM ISOL FI4 , this is a material based on SPLEN which is covered on one side with protective foil, and on the other, instead of an adhesive layer, it has a mastic layer, which is not only highly adhesive to metal, but is also not at all afraid water, unlike the standard SPLEN adhesive layer.
ATTENTION. We do not recommend using SGM IZOL without vibroplast. The presence of a mastic layer does not connect this material with vibroplasts; mastic is used as a piercing base and the material is ineffective as a vibroplast.
Third layer: The inner frame of the door is processed, vibration isolator Comfort Gold G1 closes all technological holes, creating favorable conditions for the sound of standard acoustics, this is called creating an acoustic volume.
Fourth layer: We use the most modern sound absorber Comfort Lock 4 , which we have widely introduced to replace outdated materials, located under the door card, it will absorb walking sounds inside the cavity of the door card.
Fifth layer: We use the sealing and anti-creaking sound absorber SGM Violon VEL 5 , we also treat the door card itself with it.
With this material we finally eliminate the remaining air space inside the door card, the door is reliably protected from vibrations, and is also treated with modern noise absorbers and sound insulators.
In addition to good sound absorption, we also kill the second bird - sealing the door trim from creaking and rattling.
This layer serves as the last and reliable barrier to sound passing into the cabin from the side of the door and glass seal.
Soundproofing of the floor. We remove absolutely everything from the salon that could interfere with our quality insulation of the floor.
When treating the interior floor, we use the Comfort Gold G3 vibration damper - this is directly on the bottom of the car.
The stage has come for laying the soundproofing layer and in its role we have a modern heat and noise insulator K-FLEX Soft M6 with reinforced synthetic fabric and an adhesive layer, which we use everywhere, since it has proven itself to be a good noise absorber and an excellent sound and heat insulator.
Soundproofing the trunk of a tenth generation Toyota Corolla . The trunk is disassembled, the metal is degreased and ready for pasting. And here we see the same picture of bare metal and again nothing new.
The trunk floor and rear arches are treated with Comfort Gold G2 and G3 vibration insulation.
The rear arches and fenders are treated with Comfort Gold G3 and G2 vibration insulation.
The rear wheel arches are soundproofed with Comfort Lock4 sound absorber , and the rear wings are soundproofed with Turbo Felt 10 - this is an excellent sound absorber in the form of 10mm thick acoustic felt . By the way, this material is not at all afraid of moisture or condensation, since it consists of 100% synthetic fibers.
The trunk floor is treated with vibration insulation and all we have to do is cover it with K-FLEX Soft M6 sound absorber with a reinforced moisture-resistant adhesive layer, which we use everywhere.
And finally, there is a small detail left - this is the trunk lid .
The trunk lid is vibration-isolated Comfort Gold G2.
The trunk lid trim is covered with a layer of anti-creaking noise absorber SGM VEL 5 .
And now the work is almost complete, all that remains is to assemble the interior of the Toyota Corolla and tell you about the soundproofing of the dashboard.
In this car, the manufacturer implemented a very interesting idea of installing a dashboard.
The supporting frame of the dashboard is installed as a separate unit on the car, the upper part with the AIRBAG cushion, the instrument panel, the upper and lower glove compartments are modularly installed on this frame. Therefore, work on dismantling and soundproofing the dashboard will take you 2-3 hours.
We remove the lightness and hollowness of the upper dashboard lining using Comfort Gold G1 ; after processing, the plastic became dull and viscous. We use TURBO Felt 10 as a noise absorber , re-glue all the joint parts and assemble the dashboard.
And if you have a question: Should I soundproof the Toyota Corolla dashboard?
There should be one answer: Yes!!! Because there is nothing special to do there.
And now the work is completed. And if you carefully looked and read our photo report on sound insulation of Toyota Corolla , you should have been convinced that skilled labor is the key to success and a guarantee of quality.
All that remains is to get behind the wheel and enjoy a comfortable ride in a Toyota Corolla , after completing the work at the “COMFORT TECHNOLOGY Installation Center”.

Complete sound insulation of a Toyota Corolla car in 14 hours, installation photo
- Task Soundproofing a Toyota Corolla car in the “Gold” configuration
- Solution Installing sound insulation for a Toyota Corolla car in the “Gold” configuration
- Results Noise insulation installed, operating time 14 hours (2 technicians)
In terms of noise insulation, the Toyota Corolla is practically not inferior to its competitors in the C-class, and even surpasses some.
This time the manufacturer did not ignore the problem areas of the car - arches, floor, trunk, niche for the spare wheel and the interior ceiling, but did it, as always, in its own economical way.
Insufficient sound insulation and creaking interior parts are increasingly prompting car owners to retrofit them.
Task: soundproofing a Toyota Corolla in the “Gold” configuration
The main requirement of the customer was: “To make complete and high-quality sound insulation of the car.” A balanced and justified approach is not to waste time on “half measures”, and if you really take it, then take it seriously. Today we have to:
· Remove the inner plastic trim.
· Remove factory sound insulation.
· Install high-quality insulating materials.
· Carefully place the trim in place.
Two craftsmen will work on the car. The total estimated operating time is 14 hours.
Solution: installation of sound insulation for a Toyota Corolla car in the “Gold” configuration
To implement our plans we will need: a high quality vibration damper; no less high-quality soundproofing non-woven material; fine-pored “acoustic” coating and modern car felt.
The combination of a vibration damper (4 mm) and a sound insulator (8 mm) on the floor and in the trunk, an additional acoustic layer under the door panels and vibration protection for the hood will help eliminate 70% of the noise in the car interior.
The cost of installing sound insulation for a Toyota Corolla car in Moscow
The final cost of installing soundproofing is significantly influenced by the price and consumption of materials. An offer from the supplier company SGM allows us to slightly reduce the cost of services. However, customers predominantly choose her products not only because of the 25% discount: all the materials she presents belong to the “premium” category, give a pronounced effect and are designed for long-term use.
Installing soundproofing for the interior floor of a Toyota Corolla (photo report)
After dismantling all the interior items of the cabin and trunk, we see how the manufacturer decided to “pay off” the car owner in terms of sound insulation.
A couple of anti-creaking strips on the sides of the luggage compartment and in the spare tire niche.
We glue a 4 mm thick Alumast Alpha vibration damper onto the metal floor.
We also use it to treat areas of the floor under the feet of the driver and passengers.
Installing sound insulation for wheel arches, interior and trunk of a Toyota Corolla (photo report)
We cover the side walls of the trunk with Aluminum Beta.
We soundproof the wheel arches with Alyumast ST, and treat the trunk floor and spare tire niche with Alyumast Alpha.
For the Toyota interior floor, we install a continuous coating of Bibiton.
We lay the remains of the factory car felt on top of the BB-tone and securely fix it.
We cover with a second layer all surfaces of the trunk that were previously covered with vibration insulation.
We check whether the coating is even and whether the edges of the insulation are well rolled.
Sound insulation of Toyota Corolla car doors (photo report)
We glue the vibration damper inside the doors.
We glue a centimeter layer of SGM-Izola FS on top.
We securely close all the holes in the door frame with a vibration damper.
We glue acoustic material to fill all the voids under the skin.
Soundproofing the roof of a Toyota Corolla (photo report)
We clean the surface and lay two-millimeter Alumast Beta.
We glue an insulating layer of SGM-isol on top of the “vibra”.
Sound insulation of the hood of a Toyota Corolla car (photo report)
We seal the space between the stampings in the hood frame with Aluminum Beta.
The installation is complete, everything is assembled and tested.
Results of installing sound insulation on a Toyota Corolla in the “Gold” configuration: 14 hours spent. To find out the cost and decide on the package, leave a request for a calculation by filling out the data in the form
Body elements have acquired additional strength, insulation and protection from the spread of chassis vibrations to the floor, doors and roof of the cabin. In the rear of the car, the “echo effect”, most knocks and suspension hum when driving at high speed have disappeared. The owner of the car is happy - the car has “gained weight” of only 45 kg.
If you decide to install high-quality sound insulation for your Toyota Corolla, the Urban Style tuning studio will implement any of your requests efficiently and quickly!

Additionally recommended for cars
Liquid fender liners - protective anti-corrosion treatment and sound insulation of car arches from the outside. This is the silence from the road, from potholes, holes and unevenness, from stones, sand and rain. This is a reduction in noise from wheels (especially studded ones) and almost inaudible operation of your car’s suspension.
