But as the gap increases, so does its resistance. This means that breakdown will occur at a higher voltage in the secondary circuit. Therefore, for injection engines, in which the voltage in the secondary circuit is higher than that of carburetor engines, it is recommended to set larger gaps.

In addition, as the gap increases, the likelihood of shunting the electrodes with all sorts of “soot bridges” decreases - this is also important.

The idea was simple: first we drove the engine in standard configuration on regular gasoline, and then slowly began to throw “candy” to the engine.
