I recently received a camera

In principle, everything is standard. Connected according to this diagram:

P1 - rear view camera power connector.

P2 - Wire for connecting power to the rear view camera, one end is connected to the camera, the other to the reverse lamp.

V1 - Rear view camera video connector.

V2-V3 - Video signal extender (laid throughout the car interior), instead of this extender you can use a wireless receiver-transmitter, in this case you do not have to disassemble the elephant and pull the wiring.

P3 - wire for connecting the signal for automatically switching the monitor to rear view camera mode (one end to the +12 reverse lamp, the other to a special input of the monitor or SHGU)

A1 - positive wire for license plate illumination

A2 - negative wire for license plate illumination

The control wire P3 was connected to the “+” reverse lamp and to a special wire on the radio “REVERSE GEAR SIGNAL INPUT”, then everything was according to the diagram.

The next stage is to pick out the left lampshade of the license plate lighting and mount the air conditioner there. (the backlight in the camera is diode, which means the second license plate light should also shine white, insert a diode there)

The wires were routed through the left hinge of the luggage lid. I connected the connectors, wrapped them with electrical tape for reliability, wrapped them in carpet so they wouldn’t dangle, and stuck them in the trunk lid

I screwed the minus to ground - the brake light mounting bolt

I connected the positive wires to the positive of the reverse light using a special clip (I had it in stock)

Next, we set up the radio itself, you need to activate the AV output and rear view camera input.

Well, let's check. I start the car, turn on reverse gear iiiiii... NOTHING!

In general, I then double-checked all the connections several times, went through all the settings in the GU - nothing! I won’t retell how much I practiced dancing with a tambourine, but I’ll go straight to the solution.

The reasons were 2:1 - for some reason the rear view camera input had to be connected not to VIDEO IN, but to some completely different brown input to the GU (I don’t remember what it’s called, some three letters like)

2 - it turned out that there was a break in the control wire that came with the camera; I didn’t connect it incorrectly somewhere, but it was simply broken somewhere, that’s all. I ran a separate control wire with a cross section of 0.75 and everything worked!

I haven’t worked on border settings yet, I have no time.

There are two thin wires coming out of the camera (+ and –), in addition to the video cable. I soldered them to the wires of the standard license plate light bulb.
