Toyota Corolla – reliability and comfort for every day!

Test drive Toyota Corolla

For hundreds of owners of Solaris, Rio, Polo and other budget sedans, the new Corolla is a milestone to strive for in order to raise their automobile status to the level of a solid middle class. For those who like to save money, a used Corolla is the standard of a used car. What is the 52-year-old “dream car” like today?

Outside

In the penultimate generation of the Corolla of the period 2010-2013, the exterior design with sluggish and smooth features prevailed, according to modern sensations, “pensioner”. Although, it should be noted, the public loved that old-school solid Corolla and still respects it very much in the secondary market.

In the eleventh latest generation in the E160 body, the appearance of the Corolla instantly became “fashionable and youthful”, and the current restyling looks even more rapid, sporty, sharp and slightly daring.

Although I’m not sure that the traditionalists from Toyota themselves like this “domestication”.

The current Corolla combines the traditional nature of a classic sedan, for which the older generation loves it, and at the same time has many features that are attractive to young people: a catchy three-quarter poster look, headlights and taillights with slightly blade-like outlines, aggressive “gills” in the front bumper.

Chrome is used delicately in the trim and is an option. For example, in inexpensive options there will be no shiny metallic stripes on door handles.

Actually, there may be more metal in the exterior - nice chrome moldings are optionally available, decorating the bottom of the doors that are somewhat empty without them, a spoiler tail painted in body color, and a number of other details.

The shark fin antenna on the roof hides a GLONASS antenna for the panic button system, although navigation in Russia is still not offered for the Corolla.

Inside

Officially, the Corolla's interior is described as follows: “... the multi-layer architecture of the front panel, high-quality finishing materials, glossy lacquer and matte chrome accents create a harmonious premium style. Contrasting stitching and the multimedia system screen, made in the form of a modern tablet, confirm that you are driving a premium car...”

The authors of this text certainly went overboard with the “premium level”, although there are still interesting solutions.

I’ll say this subjectively, of course, but in the interior of the Corolla I see some kind of not fully formed “fusion”, where the creators collected many different stylistic solutions, but in the end did not come to any single genre, but threw everything together.

The same, say, side window blower deflectors - why are they round, what does this shape have in common? And the combination of several layers of elastic and hard plastics in the dashboard trim, coupled with stitching, looks like tuning, not the original. However, I don’t pretend to be true – it’s a matter of taste.

The restyled dashboard has changed slightly, but not significantly. It is easy to read and always in sight thanks to the height and reach adjustable steering wheel. For me, this is just right, but someone will rightly note that the tidy is too simple and does not fit well with the unusual multimedia panel in the cabin.

And the multimedia panel is implemented in a very, very interesting way! It differs from the banal and boring display of the pre-restyling version embedded flush into the dashboard in the spirit of traditional radio tape recorders, and from the oddly protruding “tablets” that are fashionable now.

It seems that the Corolla display is “superimposed” on the dashboard by some separate, almost removable part. Its outlines in a metallic edging with two vertical rows of blue touch buttons evoke associations with serious home hi-fi.

Looks great! (By the way, for owners of good collections of good old CDs there is a bonus - a disc drive)

By the way, about the sound... The front midbass are located in the doors, the tweeters are in the corners of the doors. The second pair of speakers is coaxial, in the rear shelf. Of course, there are no remote tweeters there.

Despite the fact that the audio system is completely ordinary, according to the “if only it was” principle, the sound did not cause rejection, as happens with the sound of budget cars and those bordering them in price.

No, it doesn’t have any particular bandwidth or power, but the tweeters in the corners of the front doors are well oriented and, apparently, even partially operate in the midrange, resulting in a certain feeling of immersion in the sound.

The climate panel (two-zone) has also been updated. Now it does not have the usual “knobs”, but controls the fan speed, air flow modes and temperature with keys that swing up and down. This solution requires getting used to and diverting the driver’s attention to manual adjustment.

The main advantage that someone who switches to a Corolla from a Solaris, Rio, Polo or even a modern VAZ gets is space for themselves and their family. For example, in comparison with the same budget sales hit from Hyundai, the Corolla is 22 centimeters longer, 7.5 centimeters wider, and the Japanese wheelbase is 10 centimeters longer.

Behind the wheel of the Corolla, a person with a height of two meters and a weight of well over a hundred fits comfortably and completely freely. There is no excess headroom in the driver's seat, as in, say, a Superb or Passat, and you can't place a laptop on your lap while driving. But, in fact, the class is not the same, that’s normal. The space in front is solid, but without frills.

Although a “luxury” in the form of electric seat adjustments would not hurt... But its absence is traditional for the Corolla.

At the same time, with the front seat completely moved back, a second, equally big guy fits quite comfortably behind the tall and hefty driver. And if you need to seat three people in the back, they will be comfortable not only with a high ceiling, but also with a practically non-existent floor tunnel, so that the average rider does not have to “keep their feet crossed.”

The rear seat is pushed all the way back. It can be seen that there is plenty of legroom for passengers. True, the only elements of additional comfort for the occupants of the sofa are the central armrest and a 12-volt socket for charging gadgets...

The trunk has a net volume of 452 liters. This is not too much; budget sedans often have 10-50 liters more. But the Coroll gives priority to rear-seat passengers over luggage, and that's probably right.

Thanks to the independently foldable backrests of the rear sofa, the cargo volume can be increased if necessary. The only criticism is the false trunk floor, under which the spare wheel is hidden. It is made of the thinnest flimsy hardboard, close in density to box corrugated cardboard.

Maybe this, of course, is not too critical for bags of grub from the supermarket, but it does not look respectable.

A specific design solution is to place under the ashtray cover the buttons for turning on the heated front seats, a USB slot and a 12 volt connector...

You just want to attach a telephone to the “canyon” formed by the door trim and glass: even a large gadget fits here perfectly. But this dubious life hack is only suitable for those who cannot stand dust and noise and never open windows.

What interesting equipment does the Corolla offer? In general, the chassis is sufficient even for rich trim levels of budget cars.

Our equipment includes push-button start and keyless entry, a rain sensor, front and rear parking sensors with a camera, steering wheel adjustment in two positions, and dual-zone climate control.

Four electric windows with one-touch lowering and raising (the auto function just appeared on the Restyle), electric folding mirrors, an auto-dimming element in the interior mirror (not in the exterior mirrors).

A little more interesting is the LED headlight (in the Style+ and Prestige versions), switching from high to low automatically, heated steering wheel and heated windshield wiper parking area.

True, the heating of the steering wheel is slightly disappointing due to its “zoning”: only the sectors at “10 and 14 o’clock” are heated, and the bottom and top of the “steering wheel” do not have heaters.

But the stove is good! It quickly generates the first signs of warm air: an electric “dry hair dryer” is built-in.

And when it gets hot, it gives out full heat, very powerful! The Corolla has one of the best heaters I've come across lately.

Regarding climate and heat, here’s something else I’d like to note... The heated steering wheel button is physical (that is, it has a fixed pressed/unpressed position), and so are the heated seat buttons. But the button for partially heating the windshield, for some inexplicable reason, does not have fixed positions.

If the owner of a Corolla installs an alarm with remote start and leaves the car in winter, leaving the heated steering wheel and seats active, they will begin to heat up simultaneously with the engine starting, which is very convenient.

But you will only have to turn on the heating of the wiper zone manually personally, when you have already gone down to the warmed up car and are ready to drive... In principle, this can probably be implemented with an additional channel, but installing the security system will become more complicated and more expensive.

Iron

The cost of a basic Corolla does not cross the psychologically important millionth threshold and starts at 954 thousand. But this exotic option is hardly worth considering, since it comes with a 1.3-liter engine and a manual transmission.

Such a frail engine in a car that weighs three hundred tons can hardly be considered practical, especially when buying a car seriously and for a long time (otherwise what is the point of legendary Toyota reliability?) All subsequent options are equipped with 1.6-liter engines in both manual and manual versions. automatic boxes. With different options, they cost from 1,070,000 to 1,330,000. There is also the most expensive modification with a 1.8-liter engine (140 hp). All engines are of the Dual VVT-i line, naturally aspirated with phase regulators on the intake and exhaust. The optimal and most popular 1.6-liter engine produces 122 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 157 Nm at 5,200 rpm.

There is hardly any need to be afraid of the CVT: in the case of the Corolla, it is combined with not very powerful engines, and the car’s weight is small.

With timely oil changes and without trying to pretend to be a sports car pilot every minute, the Toyota “Varik” in most cases will not cause problems for the first owner in the first three to five years, and, most likely, the second one will drive it for the same amount of time with the typical 15 -20 thousand mileage per year. Although a classic hydraulic automatic transmission would probably be preferable for most Corolla fans...

In move

Power

122 hp

At first, the Corolla seems sluggishly vegetable. Yes, in fact, this is how it is with a 122 hp engine. and a variator... The engine perks up and gives traction only after 4-5 thousand revolutions, but the sport mode, the button of which is conveniently located near the gearbox selector for pressing blindly, partly corrects the situation, so you quickly get used to pressing this button.

Read also:  Do-it-yourself computer diagnostics of car errors

You can also control the variator manually by traditionally shifting the handle to manual mode. In principle, this brings a certain effect when overtaking and starting, but quickly gets boring.

But in general, you still have to come to terms with the fact that with this engine, in terms of dynamics, you remain at the same level as with the previous Solaris, from which you planned to move to the next level of auto prestige by purchasing a Corolla.

The electric power steering feels a bit vague. There is feedback, but I would like a little more sharpness.

A short throw to the side at speed in an attempt to avoid a small but deep pothole on the road may not be enough - the jerk is greatly smoothed out.

At the same time, when driving in a straight line, the car on wide 205/55 R16 tires gives the driver a rest: it drives itself, as if on a thread.

The suspension proved to be both energy-intensive and composed.

On a dirt road that looked like bubble wrap made entirely of ice hummocks the size of a fist and a half, the Corolla ran confidently at 50-60 km/h, making a dull splash of wheels and not bothering the riders.

The rear suspension is a simple torsion beam, which somewhat affects the comfort of passengers: a good bump makes everyone aware of the soft spots, and not just the one on whose side it falls...

Car selection

Forget about the transmission: test drive the new Toyota Corolla 11

And one revolution - What, do you have a lot of things? - Not really. Everything is mine... on me. And the bag is not full of small things. - Thank God, light passenger. Otherwise we won't be able to pack our luggage. – Do you have a small car? - Toyota Corolla.

Car owner report. Toyota Corolla 2006, automatic, mileage 114,000 km

Let me start with a short background. By the age of 37, I managed to drive a variety of vehicles, including domestic auto-crafts. The operating experience of the VAZ-2106 1989 and Nissan Maxima 1998 was positive.

and Hyndai Accent 2006, respectively.

“Six” and “Donkey” (Accent) are wonderful workhorses without embellishment and unnecessary frills, reliable and comparable in maintenance cost to a children’s bicycle or a “Vyatka-automatic” washing machine.

It so happened that I never had the opportunity to own cars in the premium segment. In 2009, I almost made a deposit for a Mazda CX7, but it didn’t work out - the notorious crisis and disagreements with a partner led to the untimely death of a quite successful engineering business, and I had to say goodbye to the white CX7 in complete “stuffing” as a child’s dream of space.

In other words, I am an ordinary, average car enthusiast who has not driven VAZ buckets for a long time, has tasted the delights of automobile comfort, but is not spoiled by sizes and trim levels. The predecessor of the current Corolla was none other than the Lancer X.

Bought at a Moscow car dealership in 2007, a two-liter dark blue samurai brought me a lot of joy. Tinted, on 16 skating rinks, shining and beautiful, one of the first in Rostov, it forced a considerable number of people to stretch their cervical vertebrae in an attempt to follow it for a long time.

And the trip to Krasnodar completely plunged me into a state close to ecstatic.

But the happiness did not last long. A little time passed and the predatory shark “washed down” my device ceased to amaze me, and the performance characteristics became more and more depressing. Noisy, expensive and unreliable. Therefore, our separation from Lancer in 2011 passed quickly, easily and without strain or regret.

I was faced with a difficult task. I needed a car that was reliable, somewhat roomy (I have two children), somewhat comfortable and, highly desirable, inexpensive. I soon realized that I could forget about a new car, because there were simply no offers on the market within 500 thousand rupees that met my requirements.

Accordingly, the ordeal began, familiar to probably every car enthusiast - choosing a used one.

But I, one might say, was lucky - one of my comrades is none other than a used car dealer (I decided to designate his occupation with a politically correct term instead of the usual “huckster”) and with his help I managed to solve the problem relatively painlessly.

I immediately decided that it would be a “golf” - class, definitely “Japanese” (I was considering, however, a Sonata, but more to calm my soul) and definitely with an “automatic” (all my previous cars had an “agitator” and I it was extremely tiring).

Based on the results of extensive research, calls, viewings, test drives and diagnostics, taking into account the reputation of the brand in general and the model in particular, based on the price-quality ratio, the final and decisive choice was made in favor of the 2006 Toyota Corolla. Automatic, 1.6 l./110 hp.

, not broken, not painted, gray-blue color, climate control, steering wheel and shift lever in leather, radio control on the steering wheel, rain sensor, full power accessories, heated front seats, ABS, 6 airbags, factory “music” with 6- with speakers, standard “anti-theft” and a lock on the gearbox.

Also “inherited” were tinting and 15-inch alloy wheels.

Before me, this device was operated by two guys, both aged, both traveled along the “home-work-home” route every day and “home-Black Sea” once a year. So the mileage turned out to be quite acceptable - 89 thousand. To become the proud owner of this miracle, I had to part with 450 thousand.

First, general impressions. To be completely honest, this Corolla is a typical “gray mouse” with a boring appearance and a sluggish character, expressionless and completely ordinary.

Absolutely not suitable for “show-off”, “picking” and aggressive driving. Doesn't make any impression on anyone. It doesn't stand out in the crowd and doesn't attract attention in any way.

But, attention, this is not what I needed at all, is it?

I needed reliability, comfort, relatively low operating costs, safety and at least some roominess.

So, this car fully satisfies my requirements. Absolutely and unconditionally. In addition, in addition, I also received a very high-quality finished interior, which, in comparison with the same tenth Lancer, is generally “Air Force No. 1”, a presidential “suite” and a penthouse in Manhattan in one bottle.

Just recently my “chick” passed another exam - I went to the coast.

You understand, I had a chance to enjoy the “quality” of the M4 in some sections, and the driving culture of my compatriots, and the inexpressible beauty of the adrenaline euphoria that accompanies overcoming the 100-kilometer section of the Black Sea “serpentine”. So what would you think? That's right, the exam was passed with honor.

All tests were passed with brilliance and dignity. The only thing that confuses me a little is the quite often need to drive in “kickdown” mode. I had to “depress” the pedal both when overtaking and on climbs. Otherwise it doesn't go very well.

Now a little more about some of the characteristics.

Controllability

Excellent. There were no extreme situations, but in normal operating mode - not a single complaint. Without blockages in turns and “yaw” on small irregularities. Returning to the straight line after a sharp turn - without bumpiness, quickly and clearly. The steering wheel is quite “informative”. There are no delays, when and how much you turn the steering wheel, then the car goes as far as it goes.

In winter - not a single skid, although I still don’t drive like a pensioner immersed in thought. Excellent work by ABS - on time and always to the point.

The seat has lateral support and entering and exiting corners is almost imperceptible even at a decent speed.

As already noted, the engine power is not enough, but this is not so critical when driving in normal urban conditions.

Suspension

Up front there is a shock absorber strut, a wishbone and a transverse stabilizer. At the rear there is a linked trailing arm and co-axial shock absorber. Disc brakes. The front ones are ventilated.

Compared to the Lancer X, it’s a feather bed. Very soft and quite energy-intensive. All unevenness in the road surface gets stuck in the suspension and is not transmitted to the body. No knocks, ringing, “blinks” or other sounds that cut the ear and heart.

At the same time, the suspension is configured in such a way that the sensation of “swimming” with the possibility of “sea sickness” never occurs; I always “ride” and have a fairly clear idea of what kind of surface I’m on.

Salon

As an experienced Internet user, I wanted to ask Yandex about “enthusiastic epithets,” but decided to do it on my own. So: wonderful, wonderful, wonderful, excellent, magnificent, stunning, delightful, mind-blowing and further according to Dahl.

Spacious. Everything is in its place. The front seats are adjustable in three planes. All window lifters are “auto-finishing”. Very convenient steering column switches. Information from the center console (from the on-board computer and radio) is perfectly readable. It is very convenient to control the climate.

As noted above, the quality of finishing materials is impressive. Great review. The mirrors are selected and positioned in such a way that when “reversing” there is almost never a need to turn around - everything is perfectly visible in the mirrors. The instrument panel with two large “dials” is quite informative and practical.

The backlight, however, is a bit pale, especially during the day, but this is a matter of adjustment.

There is no extraneous noise in the cabin when driving. You can hear the rumbling of the engine - and that’s all. The air conditioning system works great. In the summer heat, it cools the interior in about seven minutes, no more. It's warm in winter. Very comfortable two-section armrest. Quite a spacious glove compartment. Nothing creaks, rattles or falls off.

There are still a couple of minor drawbacks. Namely. After stopping, you have to turn off the low beam yourself (on the Lancer it went out automatically); after turning off the ignition, there is no way to close the windows, you have to turn it on again.

It would be appropriate to have some period of time during which the lifts can be used after the ignition is turned off. The selected gear is not displayed on the instrument panel. If you want to check, look towards the shift lever.

Sometimes the lowered one accidentally “sticks in” and you only notice it while driving.

Otherwise - perfect. Every trip is a pleasure.

Transmission

It's a pretty old four-speed automatic transmission. But this is an “automatic machine”, and not some stupid “robot”. It works clearly and flawlessly. Shifts are sometimes felt, especially downwards, but this is not at all annoying and does not cause any discomfort.

Kickdown is in perfect order, spinning the engine up to 5000 in the same second that the pedal touches the floor.

Reliability and maintainability

After a year and a half of operation, one single problem arose: the contacts in the immobilizer relay rotted and it stopped starting. We quickly found the cause, removed the back seat, got to the fuel pump and replaced it. All the fun is two hours and 1800 rubles. There was nothing more.

So, it’s difficult for me to judge maintainability. The only thing I can note is that replacing consumables does not pose any difficulties. The cabin filter is easily accessible from the glove compartment; the air filter can be changed by snapping two clips under the hood.

Summary: this is not a car, but naturally a gift of fate. Just a set of advantages and benefits. The presence of some roughness only emphasizes its, Corolla's, positive qualities.

By the way, these include the complete lack of interest in the car on the part of the valiant cops. I drive every day and have never been stopped once.

In addition, I am ready to bet the daily earnings of a Rostov taxi driver against all the gold in Fort Knox, that after a year and a half, if necessary, I will sell it for the same money that I paid when buying it. Because she's worth it.

The conclusion is simple and suggests itself like an eighth-grader at the birthday party of a cute peer, that is, by itself - an ideal and, perhaps, one-of-a-kind golf class for a reliable, safe and comfortable ride.

Toyota Corolla comfort plus on DRIVE2

Welcome to the Toyota Corolla “comfort plus” page!

Toyota Corolla CVT - tuningtime.
New Toyota Corolla.
Toyota Corolla. Review. Test drive Toyota Corolla 2014

Background of the machines.

The idea of changing cars arose in 2012. Colleagues and friends persuaded me to update my car. Since I drove a 1997 Toyota Camry for a very long time (I drove for 9 years). He started his car driving career with a Zhiguli VAZ 2106 (1988). It was in use for 3-4 years. I considered it the best car. At the end of the 90s, foreign cars from Japan appeared.

For a long time, my friends convinced me that I needed to change to Japanese. Then I had a hard time parting with the Soviet car. Now I don't regret anything. My first Japanese car was a 1991 Toyota Corona (right-hand drive). The first sensations are heaven and earth. It was a pleasure to ride. My back and butt didn’t get tired, my legs were free.

After 3 years I decided to take a higher class, but only Japanese. And after selling the Toyota Corona, I bought a 1993 Toyota Vista (turbocharged diesel, right-hand drive). The car is more massive, larger in size and weight. It was unusual to get used to on a diesel engine. I decided not to stop there.

And in 2003 I bought a 1997 Toyota Camry (turbo diesel, right-hand drive) in perfect condition in appearance and according to the documents, the car was only a week old in Russia. Been away for 9 years. Time passed and the situation demanded changes and changes in life. When I started looking closely at the fleet, I realized that everything had changed.

There were a lot of new and used cars that I didn't even know about. During this time I became very accustomed to diesel engines. They are reliable and easy to use. The service life is much longer than that of gasoline engines. Fuel efficient.

Selection of cars. First part.

In 2012, I started looking for a car. I decided to take only diesel and only left-hand drive. After considering several options, I saw a new product on the Internet. The Korean auto industry has become increasingly widespread in Russia. According to reviews, they began to praise Korean cars.

So I liked the new product; new Ssang Yong Korando Sports 2012 (pickup, turbo diesel, on frame, Merc engine, etc.). I actually liked him. I began to study it. He looks nice. Behind him is a kung car. In general, I will not describe how I acquired it and in what way, but in the end I bought it. At first everything seemed to be fine.

But after using the first 6 months, I realized that this car was not for me. First of all, I am not a hunter or fisherman. Secondly, driving around the city is very difficult because it is difficult to park due to its size. Thirdly, washing by hand takes twice as long. Well, the last thing that alarmed me was its further maintenance.

Everything will be very expensive due to its large size. And the car is good. It's great to travel between cities. In the end, I realized that this is not mine.

Selection of cars. Second part.

And again I'm looking for a car. While my Korean friend was on sale, I carefully read reviews on the Internet about cars. I decided not to take a big car. I looked at several model options. We liked: Hyundai i30 station wagon, Nissan Note, Chevrolet Cruze, Kia Rio, Volkswagen Jetta.

I went to salons. And so it seems that the choice fell on the Hyundai i30 station wagon. Everything seems to be fine. But there is one thing. The car is very low-key and there are a lot of complaints on the internet about the chassis, struts, etc. Time passed. I was waiting for the sale of a Korean (Ssang Yong Korando Sports 2012). In 2013, a new product appeared in Toyota showrooms.

This is a 2013 Toyota Corolla. Just cute! Very beautiful shape. Beauty from the front. Every detail of the design seems thoughtful, made with high (in my opinion) art. I started studying it.

And my soul tells me in my gut; “Toyota is Toyota!” Yes it is! As experience has shown, Japanese cars pay off.

Buying a car.

And here it is a miracle! We decided to sell the Korean. I call the Toyota dealership and sign up for a test drive. When I arrived at the salon, I saw that they also had discounts. This made me happy. I filled out the form, and my first acquaintance with the new car began. The manager was so kind and explained everything how everything would go. At the entrance of the Toyota center there was a Corolla for a test drive. We got into the car.

The manager got behind the wheel, and I was next to him. Having driven to a certain place, the manager explained what was what and gave the opportunity to drive the corolloi himself. When I got behind the wheel I was stunned. So great! Before that, I drove a Kia Rio (I gave it to a colleague to try). There I didn’t like the fact that my head rested on the ceiling or the left roof pillar. There is no such thing here. The car runs smoothly thanks to the variator.

As for the variator, the big plus is that it is almost never maintained. According to the manual, the first oil change in the variator is when the mileage is 160,000 km. Although for Russia they recommend the first oil change in the variator at 80,000 km. So when will this be?! And so on. Acceleration is smooth, I didn’t notice how the speedometer had already reached 120 km/h.

Because of the cameras on the highway, I had to slow down. What caught my eye was that this car had wheels on spikes. It was November outside. And even then it was not very audible in the cabin. This suggests that very good sound insulation has been made. This is what I concluded for myself. I won’t go into detail about the driving, I’ll just move on to the next act.

I liked the car in all respects. First of all, beautiful design. Many people confuse it with Camry. Secondly, this is a Toyota! Thirdly, there is a lot of space for passengers in the back. The rear seats fold 60/40. Spacious trunk. Spare full-size wheel. Beautiful panel and interior design. Fourthly, she doesn’t look short. It looks very decent.

The test drive was a 1.6 engine. It seemed to me that it was too weak for the urban cycle. Since I already have experience in other cars. After the test, I was asked to fill out a questionnaire. Everything was at the highest level. In the questionnaire, I gave the maximum rating for all points, except for the price of the car. The price is really very high. Now I have no doubts left.

In my heart I said to myself: “I’ll take the Toyota Corolla.” I decided to take the “comfort plus” package for 843,000 rubles. After brief surveys and questions with the manager, my opinion changed. This configuration includes a reversing camera and display, a 1.6 cc engine, and a RUB 20,000 discount. The fact is that, according to the manager, there is nothing in the display except a reversing camera, music and radio.

Then the thought flashed through my mind, what if I take another configuration with a 1.8 cm3 engine (engine displacement). Even without a reversing camera and display. The latter can always be installed, but the engine cannot. And then the manager said, yes, there is a Corolla Comfort Plus package with a 1.8 engine, the price is 880,000 rubles. and immediately explained that her discount was 40,000 rubles.

This is where happiness came to me. I give him the go-ahead. Let's go look at the warehouse. And here she is, a beauty. I only take white. There was silver nearby. But white looks better. It's not the same for everybody. I approved and ordered additional floor mats, mudguards, windshields, and an alarm system (starline A94). Everything was formalized by agreement. I made an advance payment and were told to come pick up the car at 11:00 am in two days.

I went home happy. I counted the days, the hours. And then the solemn moment came. I'm in the salon at 11-00. Everything further is clear. Pleasant chores. It's hard to describe.

Something like this.

Toyota Corolla reviews

Car: Toyota Corolla 1.33 MT 2013
This is my first car. Therefore, I approached the choice very carefully.

The deciding factor in the choice was the price/quality ratio. In addition, this is a global bestseller and the model has only appeared in Ukraine a few months ago. The price, of course, is not budget, but an affordable loan made it possible to purchase a Corolla.

Busines equipment - only because this is what was available in the cabin, although I won’t say that it is very poor: air conditioning, radio, front airbags... I only bought additional protection for the engine and wheel arches.

Toyota, Corolla, 1.3i (101Hp)

What can I say: Toyota is Toyota.

I got the SOL version (8 or 10 airbags, climate control, pop warmers, ABS, rain sensor, ESP, all automatics with anti-pinch protection, auto-dimming mirrors, and of course automatic.)

For the city, the average consumption is up to 10 l 100 km. Quite acceptable for the good old hydromechanical 4-speed automatic transmission.

I'm happy with the machine. After purchase, all fluids and filters were replaced. Lensed xenon installed.

The car is great! After Omega, of course, the ride is not as smooth.

Toyota, Corolla, 1.6i (110Hp)

A high-quality and reliable car for reasonable money. Among the “advantages” are fuel consumption, power, suspension, reliability, and does not lose “its” price. Among the “minuses” are noise insulation, low ground clearance and..... ordinary (well, it doesn’t touch the soul :)).

I compare it with the Corolla in the 120 body that was before. In general, the machine is a “hard worker”. There is no “zest” in it. If you need a car for every day and you are not “picky”, this is your car (cheap and cheerful).

If you want to not just ride, but have fun, then...

Toyota, Corolla, General impression, 1.6i (124Hp), about the car after a run of 67 thousand km

My engine is 1.9D 1WZ (aka Peugeot DW8). Everything about this car is pleasing except the French engine, which, despite its reliability, requires attention to the belts and constantly leaks oil. Due to my inexperience, I ran into a broken timing belt, but now I’m already looking. But this engine is much cheaper to repair than the Japanese one. Also, the radio is lousy, I replaced the cassette with a flash one (without any disks), and built a trip computer into the free display of the original radio (on top of the panel). The original acoustics are also lousy, I also replaced it.

Sometimes it frightens you because you forget that the car still needs to be repaired and maintained sometimes.

Toyota, Corolla, 1.9D (69Hp)

It is a very comfortable and reliable car, which has its pros and cons.

I purchased it from scratch from an official dealer in Toyota Center Kemerovo, I have currently serviced it in Toyota Center Novokuznetsk due to its closer location, but after the warranty expires I will probably give up such luxury because of the high price tag :(.

I installed an alarm system and crankcase protection from the officials, I’m happy with everything except the price tag, but of course I liked their service and attitude towards the client. I bought the castings in Leninsk at an auto shop, there is a larger selection there.

For me, the left-hand casting looks cooler than the original Toyota one, but I also had to buy special nuts, which must be monitored so that they do not rust and lubricate them at least once a month, otherwise there may be problems with unscrewing them, so I broke 2 studs. And now the pros and cons.

Toyota, Corolla

excerpt……. On my Corolla, at the moment, my mileage was about 40,000 km, the consumption on the highway if cruising is 100, keep 8-8.5 liters, I have 4WD. In the city the average is 10. Today we have severe frosts (a couple of days ago it was -32) all 13!. I repaired, painted and painted the thresholds, the right threshold was pushed down by the previous owners with a jack, and the stop was welded in properly.

Among the consumables, I changed the rear pads, all the belts, spark plugs, glued the top radiator cap, at the beginning of last summer I was horrified to discover that the air conditioner had stopped cooling! Not quite, but noticeably worse.

Toyota Corolla review

Our assessment of the Toyota Camry:

Recommendation for purchase:

We recommend this car for purchase due to the optimal price-quality ratio of the car.

First impression

Toyota Corolla has never stood out with any luxury equipment, and on the European market there are even modifications with mechanical front windows. The tenth generation of Toyota Corolla, which rolled off the assembly line in 2009, has undergone evolutionary changes that greatly distinguish the current model from previous ones.

The changes affected both external and internal equipment. The car became wider, under the hood the 1.8 liter engine received 132 hp. and the 2.4 engine already received 158 hp. Among the newest features, it is worth noting the appearance in the instrument panel window of an on-board computer prompt icon for changing gears, which will help to significantly reduce fuel costs.

The interior of the current generation car is based on an important principle - ergonomics, that is, every passenger who sits in the cabin, or the driver, should feel comfortable, cozy, comfortable, great attention is paid to the details. The driver's seat can be adjusted quickly, and this does not interfere with comfort.

The car's display alerts you to all safety-related issues, such as a door not being closed tightly or a seat belt not being fastened.

Reliability

Toyota Corolla is a reliable, strong and durable car that has earned itself an excellent reputation over a long time on the market; it is a combination of modern design and new, thoughtful technologies. For Toyota Corolla, reliability is not just empty words. But nevertheless, for all its uniqueness, the Toyota Corolla sometimes requires repairs.

Exploitation

The inquisitive minds of the owners of the latest generation Toyota Corolla have now identified several “childhood diseases” of the car. These are, first of all, the notorious “crickets”, that is, creaks that periodically occur in the cabin, and the occurrence of rattling of the license plate frame.

Also, sometimes there are problems starting the engine due to the use of low-quality gasoline. Another disadvantage is the gap between the edge of the dashboard and the radio. Corollary drivers consider slight vibration of the car at idle to be a slightly more serious problem.

Sometimes one indistinct sound appears, which is called the “plastic bottle effect”. Vibration begins due to the lack of adaptation of the engine control program to domestic low-quality gasoline. It is easy to treat.

We turn on the headlights and low beams, the revs rise and the vibration disappears.

The brake system of the Toyota Corolla works extremely reliably and very rarely requires attention. The need to replace front disc pads arises only after 50 thousand km, and on some cars they last up to 70 thousand.

km or more! The service life of the discs can be two to three times longer than the service life of the pads themselves.

And the rear drum brakes can be considered almost eternal: there are quite a lot of Corollas from 1997-1998 running around Russia, which still have their original pads! The car's handling is excellent; you won't be able to move it off the road, no matter how hard you rock it: the car is obedient in any conditions, demonstrating smooth gear changes. The increased wheelbase made it possible to reduce the front and rear overhangs, and the increase in the size of the wheel rims and tires helped ensure reliable grip on the road surface even at high speed. The new upgraded 1.6-liter engines are equipped with Dual VVT-i electronic variable valve timing systems, which optimize engine operation under various weather conditions and road surfaces. Thanks to the creation of such systems, the engine has become more powerful and smoother. It is capable of developing more torque, is more economical and has low exhaust emissions.

Did you know that on the official website of a Toyota dealer in Moscow, prices for a Japanese-assembled Toyota Camry are 150,000 rubles higher than for a Russian-assembled Toyota Camry

Toyota Corolla is a C class car, produced from 1966 to the present day, and in 2000 it was included in the Guinness Book of Records as the world's best-selling model. Since 2006, the tenth generation of cars in the E140 and E150 modifications has been rolling off the assembly line in Europe.

American design is more aggressive and different from European and Asian ones. The Toyota Corolla body is available in five versions - three and five-door hatchbacks of English assembly, a Turkish four-door sedan and a five-door Japanese one, and in “comfort”, “comfort plus”, “elegance” and “prestige” trim levels.

Toyota Corolla is one of the best representatives of golf class cars.
