The three-layer construction (external and internal panels with a layer of polyvinyl butyral) allows in 80% of cases to completely restore the operational and aesthetic qualities of the product.

Windshield repair

Modern technologies make it possible to quickly correct defects in the outer layer. If the inner layers are damaged, repairs require dismantling the glass or are completely impossible.

The cost and duration of the procedure depend on the type of damage - chip or crack, which, in turn, are divided into subtypes (round, radial, double-sided, combined, etc.). In general, the master first determines the fundamental possibility of repair, and then selects the appropriate technique, materials and tools.

Repair of chipped windshields. A striking example of such damage is the bull's eye. Before repair, such a chip is thoroughly cleaned and processed to remove air inclusions. Then a special polymer is injected into the cavity, having a light refractive index similar to glass. UV tape is glued on top and the area is heated with an ultraviolet lamp until the polymer completely hardens. Then its excess is removed with a thin blade, and final polishing is carried out.
Repair of cracked windshields. The classic case is the “star”. After the impact, thin cracks spread out in different directions. In this case, the master drills the ends of the cracks, then installs a special injection bridge, and the O-ring is tightly fixed around the center of the “star”. Then, using the injector piston, air is expelled from all “rays”, and polymer is injected instead. The final stage is hardening and polishing the glass at the repair site, as in the previous case.

The principle of repairing chips and cracks in auto glass is to fill the internal cavities of the damaged glass with special compounds (having the same refractive index as the glass, as well as a high degree of adhesion), followed by their subsequent polymerization.
